Bring Spring Indoors!

During The Cold Winter Months!
There are numerous types of flower bulbs that can be used to make your indoor home a beautiful display of color, during the cold winter months. Bulbs that work best for indoor planting are the Amaryllis, Crocus, Hyacinth, Narcissus, and the Tulip. In early fall  you  should plant the bulbs in a decorative flower pot , (insha-Allah) they will become flowering plants in the winter months. Potted flowers  make great gifts to give to friends and family, blooming flowers brighten the day and bring a smile to the face.

When choosing which bulbs to plant, make sure they are high quality bulbs, it is  important that the bulb has at least three eyes for a successful plant. Also, most bulbs need a lot of sun and a pot that allows amble drainage. Make sure the hole in the  bottom of the pot is big or that there are several holes for water to drain. If there is not a proper drainage system the bulb may get fungus or rot.

Make sure when planting in a pot you  first  put some stones in the bottom of the pot, but do not put near the drainage holes. Then use top quality soil that is mixed with  sterilized sand, put alittle in the pot, then sprinkle a little bone meal on top of the soil.  Fill the pot to the top, making sure the soil is loose not packed down.  Read instructions on the flower bulb package to see how deep the bulb will need to be planted. Another rule you may use for planting is the height of the bulb x 3 deep and make sure the pointy end of the bulb is facing upwards.

Once you have planted the bulb,  position the pot in full sunlight and water . Enjoy your beautiful flower blooms!  Insha-Allah.
