I stumbled across this e-store while browsing the Internet one day. I liked a lot of the styles they had. I loved the dusters for me, and the long shirts were perfect for my daughters. In fact they were perfect for me too! The hijabs also looked very nice and everything was well priced.
In the interest of finding out more about their company, I wrote them an email asking for an interview.
Terry from www.al-farah.com responded to my questions. Here is our exciting interview.
Badreya: Salam alaikum Terry, you know when I first found your company I called my 17 year old daughter over and showed her your styles, and for the first time she considered wearing a jilbab. (what you call dusters) Can you tell us a bit about your company and what made you decide to go into business?
Terry: Al-Farah is a high quality producer and retailer of Modern, Modest and Stylish Islamic Clothing since 2003. After seeing the lack of stylish clothing available to Muslim women we decided to design our own fashionable line. We aim to produce a versatile range of styles suitable for work, school and the Mosque. Al-Farah offers a great selection of long blouses, full length skirts, modest cut pants, stylish suits and dusters as well as a wide range of chic hijab and hijab accessories to complement our clothes.
Badreya: Quality is important since we want this type of clothing to last. It can be a challenge to meet today's modern expectations in these challenging time. Particularly for girl and women in school and women who work outside of the home. How long have you been open and how do you advertise yourself?
Terry: The Al-Farah website (www.al-farah.com) has been open since 2005 and, alhumdullilah, has many loyal repeat customers. We have participated in many local events and conventions and, Insha Allah, we hope to have a booth in the 2006 Chicago ISNA event so keep an eye out for us!
Badreya: People are often afraid to buy on the interment. What would you say to make people feel confident to buy from you and to what extent do customers play a role in your business?
Terry: We love to hear from our customers. Al-Farah highly encourages customer feedback and suggestions to help us with new design ideas. Our selection is constantly expanding and we are always working on new styles. All of our original designs are manufactured in Egypt according to our specifications.
Badreya: So you manufacture your own product. That is wonderful Now that I know your hijabs are from Egypt, I am pretty sure that I will be buying my hijabs from you. Egyptian cotton hijabs are very light weight and the best for summer!! I'm very excited now! What special features does your company offer?
Terry: All our Islamic clothing is carefully inspected for quality and Al-Farah.com has a 30 day customer satisfaction guarantee! We also take phone orders on our 800 number and accept payment in the form of check or money order. Al-farah.com also ships to almost anywhere in the world!
Badreya: I think it's great that you ship worldwide. Many company's ship within the United States but don't ship to Canada. This is a definite plus for many of us. Also the fact that you accept checks. Many Muslim women do not use credit cards. Your styles are also attractive yet simple, something that is very important to me. I want to look clean and stylish but I don't want to stand out with elaborate designs. I feel your line accomplishes that.
