Inshaa'Allah in this section we will be dealing with verdicts issued by various Scholars. However the key theme will be to 'Take from where the Scholars took' in order to eliminate Taqleed (blind following) and facilitate our understanding of the evidences. Instead this was the methodology of the pious predecessors during the early years of Islam. Imam Ahmad (May Allah have mercy upon him) eloquently summarized this great principle when he said, "Do not follow my opinion, nor the opinion of Maalik nor Shaafi, nor Awzaa'ee, nor Thawree, but take from where they took. (I'laam 2/302)

Question:
What are the conditions for a deed to be accepted by Allah?
Answer:
Indeed if the action is done sincerely but not correctly, it is not accepted; and if it is done correctly but not sincerely, it is not accepted; until it is done sincerely and correctly. The sincere deed is that which is done for Allah alone, and the correct deed is that which conforms to the Sunnah. (Jaami of Ibn Rajab)
Evidences for the condition of having Ikhlaas (sincerity)
So worship Allah by having Ikhlaas in the religion for Him (Qur’aan 39:2)
He who spends his wealth for self purification, and has no favour to be paid back from anyone, except to seek The Face of his Lord Most High. (Qur’aan 92: 18-20)
Abu Hurairah(May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah(peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘Allah said, I am above shirk. Whoever associates with Me in any act, I leave him to that which he associated.’ (saheeh of muslim)
Evidences for the condition of conforming to the Sunna
Say, ‘If you love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive your sins (Qur’aan 3:31)
So if they believe in the way you believe, then they are guided (Qur’aan 2:137)
Narrated Abu Musa(May Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “My example, and the example what I have been sent with is that of a man who came to some people and said, “O people! I have seen the enemy’s army with my own eyes, and I am a plain warner; so protect yourselves!’ Then a group of his people obeyed him and fled at night proceeding stealthily till they were safe, while another group of them disbelieved him and stayed at their places till morning when the army came upon them and killed and ruined them completely. So this is the example of that person who obeys me and follows that Truth which I have brought (the Quran and the Sunna), and the example of the one who disobeys me and disbelieves the Truth I have brought.’ (Saheeh of Al Bukhari)
